S Khonkaen Foods announces expansion plans

FBR Staff Writer Published 16 February 2012

Thailand-based S Khonkaen Foods, a producer of Thai-style sausages and dried shredded pork, is planning to establish manufacturer plants overseas.

Currently, the company is considering Southeast Asia regions, especially Vietnam. According to S Khonkaen, Vietnam is promising location as it is rich in raw materials such as fish for its fish-ball production.

S Khon Kaen Foods CEO Charoen Rujirasopon said the firm started exporting in 1994, and now the company plans to play a bigger role in the global market with a variety of products.

"The world is our market and Asia will be the highlight of our company," Rujirasopon added.

The company said that it is open for all forms of investment for its overseas expansion.

S Khon Kaen ships its products to 30 nations worldwide from the firm's four plants.

This year, the firm plans to invest THB150m ($4.85m) on its plants, of which THB80m ($2.59m) will be invested in the seafood plant and the rest in pig farming and the processed-meat plant.
